Squid Game Season 3 Review, Ending Explained & Burning Questions We Still Have

Returnal brings developer Housemarque’s slot king138 signature ‘bullet hell’ approach to the roguelike genre, which means that you’ll never know what to expect when you enter a room, only that you will have to start over again from the beginning when you die. As the games go on, creator Hwang Dong-hyuk increasingly revels in his signature style. Nobody is safe, and there’s innumerable twists and turns throughout.

A return to Nintendo consoles is a return to form for Street Fighter. The most disheartening quality is how little feels said by the end. Nobody thought Fortnite would still be popular this late on, but it’s continued to adapt and fight for its spot at the top of the battle royale ladder. The Monster Hunter Wilds Title Update 2 roadmap, detailing the planned post-launch DLC announced so far. This is our list of the best PS5 exclusives you can play right now, including Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, Astro Bot and more.

Helmed by creator/writer/director Hwang Dong-hyuk, the thriller follows Seong Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae), who won the games in Season 1, and then came back to them in Season 2 with the hopes of infiltrating them from the inside out and dismantling them forever. [newline]Upon returning to the game island, Gi-hun naively assumed he had the upper hand. Yet, by the end of the second season, the former gambling addict realized that in these particular tournaments, the house always wins. The final season is still deeply disturbing and ultraviolent, but it’s much more of a continuation of the second season than a distinct entity. Still, Season 3 puts a bow on this chapter of the phenomenon while paving the way for a new, Westernized beginning. It’s got a lot of what I like to call Euro-jank in both the story presentation and the game play.

If you don’t want to play with others, this entry actually introduces NPC characters that can help you out on missions. There’s loads of smart changes like this that add up to a fantastic new era for the long-running series. Monster Hunter Wilds finally offers up a seamless open-word for hunters to explore, and by getting rid of some of the series’ bloat, it’s the most accessible entry yet. For one, combat has been overhauled for all 14 weapons, each receiving new moves and skills, and some being reworked completely. Now, you can bring two weapons on a hunt and switch between them, a move that really encourages experimentation.

The Alters begins with the cinematic drama and thrill of a sci-fi blockbuster movie. Jan Dolski has crash-landed on a hostile planet to find that the rest of the crew have all died in the landing process. After scrambling past lava rivers, radiation spots, and rocky terrain, he arrives at the mission base – a giant wheel-shaped ship. Jan soon realizes that unless he gets the base moving, the entire station will be engulfed in an intense radiation wave emitted from the sun, and he’ll be fried to a crisp. He can’t pilot the ship without a crew; there’s just too much to do for just one person.

These sidequests shouldn’t be missed, and in truth cannot be, because focusing on the main quest at the expense of the XP and steady upgrade materials they provide probably won’t be feasible for most players. It’d feel unjust not to give Squid Game — Netflix’s most successful series — a high score for landing its ending. Sure, there are a couple of hiccups, but the writers delivered a satisfying finale, and the stars produced some phenomenal performances. Compare that to how feature rich something like Fantasy Life I is. Hitman World of Assassination – Signature Edition is a stunning collection of games that sees Agent 47 at his absolute best. With multiplayer aspects woven seamlessly and smartly into the mix, tons of ways to approach every mission, and some of the best level design in the biz, this is a bonafide belter, no questions asked.

In 2024, IGN didn’t give out a single 9 or 10 between the end of June and beginning of September, which helps explain why it felt a bit barren for games on the whole. Nevertheless, the year began with a literal deluge of great games before the noticeable summer pause. Every year we go through our archive of reviews to look back at the highest reviewed games at IGN. This year, 27 games received a score of 9 or 10, and of that only one new game received a 10 (the other 10 was given to a re-review of a very popular game). This is a marked downturn from 2023 where 36 games received our highest review scores, including five games that received a 10.

It had been in early access for quite some time, allowing devs to fine tune gameplay to perfection. The launch build has since been updated, and as it stands, Baldur’s Gate 3 is simply one of the best RPGs you can play on PS5. Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 is a direct sequel to the 2018 medieval RPG, and it pretty much improves on the formula in every way possible. It manages to feel wholly unique, doubling down on immersive sim elements, and excelling where other RPGs tend to falter.

This open-world – or rather, open-worlds – action game features a level of gunbattles and broken promises befitting the legend that is Chewbacca’s best mate. However, Star Wars Outlaws essentially delivers a Han Solo-like experience in both good and bad ways; it has some handsome looks and a strong sense of adventure, but it’s also somewhat scruffy around the edges and is liable to let you down from time to time. If you want to experience one of the best co-op games of all time on the Switch 2, then Split Fiction is the title for you. You and your player two will play as either Mio or Zoe (two aspiring authors who specialize in sci-fi and fantasy, respectively). You’ll have to team up and make your way through each other’s stories as you try to escape a machine that is hell bent on extracting all your ideas. Not only is Split Fiction visually stunning and emotionally touching, but its level design is heaps of fun.

Fans, however, don’t share the same sentiment as critics, and give Squid Game Season 3 a 45% “rotten” rating on RT’s Popcornmeter based on 100-plus verified user ratings. Mostly old titles, a lot of Game Keys, and even Mario Kart appears to underwhelm a lot of players. (Even my pc struggles with that one) They optimized it quite nice its a stable 30fps i love it. Cyberpunk is an awesome tech showcase for the console but I have to be honest, 8 hours in I’m finding it hard to follow what’s going on.

New single-person studio Stelleas announced its first project, Stellar Reach today. Offers a sci-fi Civilization-like experience on a real life scale. Dead by Daylight reaches an impressive new milestone and proves that it is still an engaging game by breaking its own player count record. Being able to explore unimpeded is paramount because Outlaws does such a great job teasing you with secrets to find or opportunities to pursue in an extremely organic way as you move through its four main worlds. Fortnite on Switch 2 fixes all glaring — and not so glaring — issues with the Switch 1 version of the game. This is a huge package of activities; from battle royale to survival game, racing, creative modes, music festivals, and more besides. It’s a lot, and it now runs at 60fps with crisp, clean resolutions all round.

If you’ve played any of the Souls series, this is the one that started it all, and you’ll no doubt recognize many of the systems that have now become a standard of the genre. The world of Elden Ring is rich with lore and the story Shadow of the Erdtree tells adds new layers to that rich text. The backstories for characters like Queen Marika and Miquella are both enlightening and tragic, and the sense of discovery players get when uncovering these secrets prove that nobody does world design quite like FromSoftware. After playing This War of Mine and both Frostpunk games, to me, developer 11 Bit Studios feels most at home at the end of the world. The Alters continues this trend, but approaches it from a fresh angle.
